- ‘Architects of the South’ is a documentary series of six 35-minute episodes that travels through Latin America from south to north, presenting an intimate portrait of the region's most prominent women architects over the age of 50, crossing themes of gender, ecology and indigenous peoples in a journey through the landscapes and characters of the diverse Latin American territory. Each chapter will be directed by a compatriot of the architect portrayed, allowing us to explore the narrative, aesthetic and expressive particularities with which each professional represents her ideas, culture and territory. The series not only seeks to make visible the built and under-represented work of these women architects, their contributions to the profession, their creative processes and the challenges they have faced in a field historically dominated by men, but also seeks answers about what continent we want to build for the future.
