- Synopsis
- Neal Stewart (30's) signs up for Albright's animation class and Albright confides he has the supernatural ability to draw on paper the future - a “gift” that originated with the ancient “Griots” of Africa. Meanwhile, Neal meets his romantic match, Tina. Soon, she is pregnant. Neal panics and insists on abortion. Tina complies, then develops metal health complications, changing from a beautiful, independent photographer to a deeply depressed figure. When Albright's wife becomes deathly ill, he uses the gift to save her, then passes on the gift to Neal at a huge price. Tragically, when one life is saved by the gift, another is taken. With his new power, Neal fulfils his greatest dreams. He also confides in Tina, who asks him to use the gift in reverse to bring their baby back. Desperate, Tina overdoses to escape her pain. Finally Neal draws that fateful day differently -- rejecting the abortion instead. Tina and their son survive, while Neal sacrifices himself.
