    • Ayoub, a 10 year old boy, suffers from chronic headaches. His parents, Driss and Zahra are very poor. After having him examined in their village they decide to take Ayoub to the hospital in Casablanca.

Driss' brother, Houcine and his wife Fatima live in Casablanca. He is a fruit and vegetable merchant but his dream is to leave Morocco for Spain.

Ali is a young utopian man who dreams of a fraternal and social Morocco. His social status made him leave his country for France, but he doens't feel at ease anywhere. Neither in Europe, where he looks like an alien or in Morocco, where he does not find his place. Increasingly desperate, he only sees suicide as a way out.

Tariq is a young doctor. He went to Canada to study medicine. Back in Morocco he hesitates between a hard life in a public hospital or easy money in private clinics.

The hospital surgeon has already made his choice. His wife's lifestyle demanded him to choose easy money.

Denis and Leila arrive from Geneva. They want to adopt a child in Morocco.

All these characters will cross their paths during a night in a public hospital in Casablanca. Ayoub is getting worse. This will force his parents to sell everything they own to meet the medical expenses. It will not be enough. They will then have to face a terrible dilemma : should they accept the swiss couple proposal, have them Ayoub adopted and saving him from death ?
