    • Synopsis
    • Lio, a thirty-something German traveler, arrives in Rio de Janeiro for what is meant to be a temporary stay. In truth, his visa is uncertain and so is his sense of belonging. Under the heat of the city, he reconnects with Robin, a younger Brazilian man who is charming, elusive, and emotionally distant.

Their connection is immediate. They walk through sunlit streets, share juice at local stands, and exchange glances that say more than their words. But something remains unspoken. Robin holds back. Lio wants more but struggles to ask for it.

As Carnival approaches and the city grows louder, the silence between them deepens. Through fragments of memory and quiet present moments, the film explores intimacy, longing, and the emotional distance that can exist even in close proximity. Rio is a portrait of a brief connection that feels both tender and incomplete, set against the backdrop of a city that never stops moving.
