    • Synopsis
    • Moraima, a baby was given in adoption to a couple of an American and a Dominican. When the girl is 11 years old, the parents separate and the mother returns to live in the Dominican Republic bringing with her Moraima, another adopted son and another in the belly. The adoptive mother begins to make rejection and Moraima, who studies in a very expensive English-speaking school, confronts her and asks why so much aggression against her. The mother confesses that she is adopted and that her parents are very poor and live in the mountains of Jarabacoa. The girl wants to meet her biological parents. The mother takes her and returns her to her biological parents, (to whom she makes them sign a cross with a deceptive role) since they are illiterate, live in very poor conditions and do not have to feed another 12 children. Moraima barely knows how to speak Spanish. Her biological parents place her as a domestic worker in beauty salons and in townhouses, but she does not know how to make domestic cries, and a young law student places a demand on her adoptive parents for her abandonment. The case will serve to establish jurisprudence. Thanks to the case of Moraima, the Children's Law of the Dominican Republic was created. Elaine, a young journalist, is given the task in the newspaper to find out what has happened to Moraima's life. While she is investigating, for several months, other cases of adoptions come to her, but Moraima has been swallowed by the land. The search continues, through a roller coaster of emotions. Until a surprising end, that does not leave anyone without reactions.
