- Synopsis
- This is the astonishing story of the secretive Aline Mayrisch, of her eventful emotional life and her achievements. It is the story of a woman from the Luxembourg bourgeoisie, married to a big industrialist who successfully fights for female emancipation in her country and at the same time dreams of becoming a famous writer. But Aline Mayrisch is an anxious, unstable woman, plagued
  by a mysterious inner turmoil. Her frustrations lead her to self-denial. For a time she seeks her way in the love of another woman. At the end of a journey marked by ups and downs, she wins the esteem of her husband, impressed by her social commitment. A new complicity develops within this couple that is emblematic of Luxembourg’s history. Will it allow Aline to finally find peace of mind?
