- A UNITED KINGDOM is an epic love story based on extraordinary true events. In 1947, Seretse Khama, the 26 year old King of Botswana, fell in love with Ruth Williams, a 24 year old London office worker. Their marriage was opposed not only by their respective families but also by the British and South African governments.
