- Children's book author Sara and her mother Michelle never really got along. As a result, she hasn't been back home in a while. However, when her beloved grandmother Evelyn gets rushed to the hospital, Sara returns to visit. There, a misunderstanding leads the mother and daughter to believe that Evelyn is dying. When Evelyn gives them a list of tasks for the perfect Christmas, they become determined to follow it to the letter. Not only do they have the perfect holiday, they bond for the first time in a long time.
