- On New Year's Eve fifteen years ago, the younger brother was hit by an oil smuggling truck. Frightened by the shotgun in the driver’s hand, the older brother allowed the vehicle to get away. During the fireworks, he could only see clearly that the driver was missing his right index finger. The older brother was unable to provide clues due to guilt and humiliation, and the car accident became a cold case. The younger brother became disabled and their parents died in despair. The older brother lives with the pain of the past and drinks to drown his sorrows, but he never forgets his desire to find the culprit. By chance, the older brother discovers that Huang Tiansheng, a notorious local oil smuggler, is the driver who escaped that year. While the older brother is further searching for evidence, he gets embroiled in the conflicts of interest between the oil smugglers. After a truck smuggling oil for Huang Tiansheng hits and kills a donkey and the tires blow out, it comes to the older brother’s shop for repair. While avoiding the donkey herder who chased down the truck to claim compensation, the driver knocks down the door of the older brother’s repair shop. After the driver is poisoned by the soot and goes into shock, an unknown oil smuggler leaves him at the older brother’s car repair shop and breaks the glass to get their attention. After the younger brother throws bricks wildly outwards, he finds the driver lying on the ground in shock. The matter continues to escalate into a "murder case." The older brother drives a truck to take the driver to the hospital. On the way, Huang Tiansheng stops the truck and opens the passenger door, causing the driver to fall off the truck, and Huang Tiansheng assumes the driver is injured by this fall. The driver in shock is passed down to the "next person" and the older brother is torn between saving him and finally taking sweet revenge. As the older brother is in dire straits, the driver regains consciousness, clearing the older brother of suspicion of murder. As fireworks go off, the older brother assists the police in taking down the oil smuggling industry, and Huang Tiansheng and other oil smugglers are punished by law. The older brother completes his own redemption and becomes a hero in the fight against oil smuggling.
