- Based on a popular internet novel that has racked up more than 30 million hits, Zhao Hantang’s directorial debut tells the true story of a Shanghai youth as he travels on foot across one of the world’s last uninhabited wildernesses, Qiangtang on the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau. Zhao also produces and stars with actress Jiang Yiyan (City Of Life And Death), while award-winning cinematographer Lee Ping Bin (The Assassin) shot the film’s high-altitude setting.
