SUBTLE is an association that brings together professional audiovisual translators from around the world. Founded in the UK in 2006 by freelance subtitlers, SUBTLE seeks to represent and protect the interests of everyday professionals working in all fields of audiovisual translation, including subtitling, captioning, transcription, dubbing, audio description and more. Today, SUBTLE is a multinational community that includes not just self-employed professionals but also students and academics.
