Description
SUBSTANCE FILMS is an independent production company based in Costa Rica that brings intimate stories to international audiences. We dare to give voice to our emotions. The film “Hormigas”, directed by Antonella Sudasassi Furniss, was the first Central American film to be nominated for a Goya Award. Our film, “Memories of a Burning Body”, won the Audience Award at the 2024 Berlinale and will represent Costa Rica at the Academy and Goya Awards.
