SLOVAK FILM AND TELEVISION ACADEMY
Description
The Slovak Film and Television Academy is a non-profit organization uniting key figures in Slovak audiovisual culture. Its aim is to foster spiritual values, stabilize the audiovisual scene, support film-related cultural activities, and represent Slovak audiovisual arts at home and abroad. Partnering with local and international institutions, it organizes annual showcases, is behind the national film award "The Sun in a Net," and nominates films for European and Academy Awards.
Objective
The Academy engages in public discussions and legislative efforts to support Slovak audiovisual production and its future. It emphasizes supporting young filmmakers and promoting their work internationally. The Academy believes that films, television, and audiovisual art can reflect Slovakia's evolving landscape and societal challenges. Through emotional and artistic expression, these mediums can inspire self-reflection and contribute to the development of new social values.
