Description
SILESIA FILM Institute since 1945 deals with film dissemination and promotion, runs projects popularizing film culture, supports various actions related to film industry. It is a cultural institution operating under the auspices of the Silesian Voivodeship local government.It operates in four spheres connected with:professional activity (financing tools, funds), industry (festival REGIOFUN), dissemination (regional film archive, interdyscyplinary education), publicity (5 art house cinemas)
Objective
Our objectives include developing the Silesian Film Fund and Silesian Film Fund for International Co-productions, with special focus on the Silesian Film Commission, as well as networking in the Silesian Voivodeship among small, local cinemas which present repertoire of high artistic value. Our flagship project is the International Festival of Film Producers REGIOFUN, organized in Katowice every year in October.
