Since our launch in 2009, more than 10.5 million people have pledged over $2.2 billion, funding more than 100,000 creative projects. Each project is independently created. The filmmakers, musicians, artists, and designers you see on Kickstarter have complete control over and responsibility for their projects. Kickstarter is a platform and a resource; we’re not involved in the development of the projects themselves. Together, creators and backers make projects happen.In the past three years, more than $330 million has been pledged to Film & Video on Kickstarter. Kickstarter-funded films have comprised over 10% of Sundance, SXSW, and Tribeca slates for the past 4 years and 11 films have been nominated for Academy Awards, with one – Inocente – taking home an Oscar!
