Description

Founded in 1946, the ICA seeks to embrace the urgency surrounding contemporary art and culture. Continually looking forward, the ICA lays claim to an extraordinary legacy as well as playing a pivotal role in the development of Pop Art, Op Art and Brutalist Architecture, charted the course of Punk. ICA CINEMA foregrounds emerging voices and supports pioneering visions of filmmakers and film collectives from the very best of independent world cinema.

Objective

To maintain and further grow the ICA CINEMA outreach and renowned engagement with its unrivaled program of new independent releases, retrospectives, 35mm screenings, artists’ film and the ICA annual film festival FRAMES of REPRESENTATION. Founded in 2015 by ICA Head of Cinema Nico Marzano, FRAMES of REPRESENTATION (FoR) is a laboratory conceived to engage with new visions of cinema through supporting exhibition, production and distribution of innovative and politically aware cinematic languages.
