Description

Serge Gainsbourg declared in 1990 « that the ultimate in snobbery was not to be at Cannes or Venise but to come to Rouyn-Noranda ». The Festival du cinéma international en Abitibi-Témiscamingue takes place annually in Rouyn-Noranda, Québec, Canada, at 600 km north of Montréal and 3 hrs by plane from New York. Most recognized film festival in Canada in its categorie, the Festival presents an extensive programming of long feature, medium and short films from all over the world. The quality of its programming, the warmth of its welcome, the devotion of its public and the professionalism of its organization have contributed to make this a sought-after event by press and film-makers alike. Since 1982, many well-known artists have attended the Festival through the years such as Claude Lelouch, Pierre Richard, Marie Trintignant, François Cluzet, Maria Demedeiros, Michel Ocelot, Monica Scattini, Olivier Gourmet, Bill Plympton, Carole Laure, Denys Arcand and many more.
