Description

Derek Frey is a passionate and diligent filmmaker with twenty years of leadership experience producing live-action and animated films for the major studios and serving as director, editor, and cinematographer on a number of award-winning independent projects. Films Frey has worked in a producer capacity have earned over $2.9 billion at the box office.

Objective

Currently have two projects that I'm seeking financing for - to film in 2025. THE BEATING OF A MOTH'S WING (Thriller). DIr. TIm Pope (Famed music video and feature film director) Set in present day Berlin, our story surrounds Astrid, a twenty year old film student with a tragic past. When her voyeuristic tendencies lead her to a dangerous discovery, she must navigate a world of deception and madness to survive. DIE IN THE DARK (Horror) Kacie and James attend a small party at an ominous Victorian mansion, but when the other guests vanish, they find themselves trapped within the grounds of the haunted property. Strange symbols appear on the walls, and they’re attacked by malevolent spirits. As they search for answers, they uncover clues about a 30-year-missing person case, tied to an ancient relic a meant to open a portal to the afterlife. Desperate to escape, they realize closing this portal is their only hope of escape. But in a twist, Kacie comes to realize experiencing that she and James are actually trapped echoes of the professor and his victim, forever ensnared by the portal’s curse.
