Description
Prague based Background Films produces European arthouse cinema. Established by Klara Zaloudkova and Mikulas Novotny, with a mission to inspire, entertain and move the audience. Its productions include Poland's 2022 Academy Award candidate "Leave no Traces" by Jan P. Matuszyński (Venice main competition, 2021), Mihai Mincan’s „To the North“ (Venice Orizzonti, 2022), or the Czech New Wave legend Karel Vachek's "Communism and the Net or the End of Representative Democracy" (Rotterdam, 2020).
