Description
42film GmbH was founded in 2004. Based in Halle/Saale, the production company is lead by Eike Goreczka and Christoph Kukula. 42film realizes documentaries as well as feature film with special attention to international co-productions. The company sees itself as a plattform for young, talented filmmakers from Germany and abroad. In addition, 42film develops it‘s own film materials and serial formats. After the company in its early years mainly produced documentaries like "The Man‘s Field" (Mario Schneider, 2012), today increasingly it focuses on international co-productions. Among the most successful productions of recent years are films as "Piggies" (Robert Glinski, 2009), "Family Film" (Olmo Omerzu, 2015), "Corn Island" (George Ovashvili, 2014) which won the Crystal Globe at the 49th International Film Festival of Karlovy Vary and shortlisted for the Oscar 2015 for the Best Foreign Language Film.
