Distinguished, Director/Producer, Jennifer Gelfer, is onboard to helm the new, contemporary film version of William Inge’s, acclaimed novel, “Good Luck Miss Wyckoff”. Highly lauded as a superb ”actor’s director”, Jennifer has worked in every aspect of the business having taught and coached some of the worlds brightest stars before moving into motion picture directing and producing. Embracing the mantra of perfecting her art, Jen began her training at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York and then at LAMDA in London. While working with legendary director of the National Theatre, Sir Peter Hall, Jennifer joined the Theatre Royal Haymarket’s, Masterclass. As an Associate Member, she was featured in the BBC documentary, "What I'd Really Like To Do," teaching one of her acclaimed master classes. Jen went on to directing theater in New York including revivals of Lanford Wilson's "Burn This" and John Patrick Shanley's "Four Dogs and a Bone." She received rave reviews from the New York Times (among others) for directing the New York Premiere of Michelle Clunie's play, "US.". After relocating to Los Angeles, Jen began a long term tenure as a primary associate of renowned director, Drama Critics Circle award winner, Milton Katselas at The Beverly Hills Playhouse. Having Executive Produced, “Showing Roots” starring Cicely Tyson, Jen stepped into the role of Lead Producer on the feature films: “Blind”, starring Alec Baldwin and Demi Moore and “An Imperfect Murder” starring Alec Baldwin and Sienna Miller, wherein she earned a coveted P.G.A. title. Jennifer’s debut screen directing initiated with the critically acclaimed Webseries, “In Between Men”, seen by millions of viewers. Thereafter, she directed her first feature film,”The Second Sun”. Subsequently, “DieRy” marked her second feature film as a director.
