    • Synopsis
    • Creating a full-blown zoo in your own backyard…. dream or reality? For Buddy it is both.
From one of the most remote territories of the US comes this remarkable character film. ZOOMAN is a raw, authentic account of a raw, authentic man fully living his passion. The film follows Buddy throughout a year as he relentlessly lives life the way he chooses, pursuing his dream - against all odds – with pure vigor and determination. Buddy’s dream is to have his own zoo in his backyard, enabling him to live amongst and care for all the wild animals he loves.
As we start filming, Buddy’s dream has materialized beyond imagination: Over 400 animals live on his 40-acre plot in Wallace middle-of-nowhere Michigan. The zoo is run only by Buddy (56) and his fiancé Carrie (28). Between the two of them they do everything: build exhibits, feed and clean the animals, guide tours and slaughter cows to feed their carnivores. Their home – still the house where it all began, now surrounded by the zoo – is a nursery for baby animals; house cats and dogs fight with monkeys and tiger cubs for a place at the dinner table. Through four seasons we see what most visitors to the Zoo don’t see: The fight for survival, the harsh life and the sacrifices Buddy and Carrie make to live Buddy’s dream unconditionally.
      ZOOMAN, reality un-cut!
