    • Synopsis
    • The Spartacus Movement was formed in 1959 in Argentina, with the aim of bringing together all those artists who share the aspiration to be part of a militant mass art, and at the same time express the collective reencounter with the national, historical and social identity in Latin America.
Malena, daughter of Carlos Sessano, one of the nine painters of the Spartacus Movement, begins the search that reconstructs this story with the intention of repairing the affective and identity bonds that generated the uprooting of her family's exile in 1969.
On the basis of current testimonies, mainly the voices of Juan Manuel Sánchez and Carlos Sessano, other inquiries that involve family members and professionals linked to the history of the Spartacus Movement spread across several countries such as Argentina, Spain, Bolivia, Sweden and Canada. The search for Malena and the dialogue she has with her father reveals a forged history of passions, discussions, separations, different aesthetic and ideological positions, conflicts that try to find their resolution after the disappearance of the group in favor of a larger movement.
