    • Synopsis
    • Wawa, a seven-year-old boy of Lisu nationality, admires his elder sister, Naxiang, who goes to school with her friends, using overhead cables to cross the river. His mother insists Wawa may only cross the river in his father's company, but his father works far away and seldom returns home.
      The secret of Wawa's crossing the river using the overhead cables is revealed by teacher Nie, who comes to visit for the first time. A pair of red rain boots teacher Nie brings makes Wawa stay at home. He promises not to use overhead cables by himself if he can keep the rainboots. However, the next morning, Wawa returns the rainboots to his sister. Time flies, until one day, in a great hurry to bring Wawa a new pair of shoes, Naxiang falls off the overhead cables into the river…
