    • Synopsis
    • Tumbad is a dark moody period fantasy that chronicles a nefarious secret, passed over three generations of crumbled paternal relationships between 1921 and 1947. Set against the backdrop of colonial India, in the far, decaying reaches of the fictitous village Tumbad, the film is an exploration of that vestigial, and yet most adamant trait of human life - greed. The social allegory unfolds through the journey of the stubborn anti-hero Vinayak (played by Sohum Shah), and relies heavily on the dark expressionist images rendered by debut director Rahi Barve and DP Pankaj Kumar.
