    • Synopsis
    • 1987: Pablo, Andrés and Juan are neighbors, friends, and confidants. They are also middle-class teenagers growing up in Quito during the 80s. When John runs away from home trying to avoid being sent to military school, Pablo and Andres help him hide in an abandoned house. While Juan flees the authority of his family, Andrés questions his mother’s stories about the prolonged absence of his father. Pablo, on the other hand, son of Argentine exiles in Ecuador, lives in permanent anxiety about his family’s political leanings. The adventure of hiding Juan, joins them to Carolina, a mysterious girl that shows up one day in their hideout, while escaping her own reality. Thus, these four friends will experience for the first time love, desire, jealousy and danger, creating strong emotional links between them. These bonds are irretrievably broken by a tragic accident that causes Pablo’s return to his native Argentina.
2002: After finding himself out of work, due to the Argentinian economic crisis, Pablo returns to Ecuador to meet up with Andrés. Andrés works out of town and Pablo finds himself wandering around trying to figure out what he walked away from many years ago. His meeting with Carolina, Juan and Pablo’s first love, helps him realize that he is back in Quito to pick up the pieces of his own past. When Paul and Andrés finally meet up, they have no choice but to face up to something they have evaded for 15 years: what really happened to Juan.
