    • Synopsis
    • After powerhouse Sophie Goldberg (Shirley Maclaine) is swept off her feet, literally and figuratively, by debonair Frank Romano (Alan Arkin), life in both their families is turned upside down. Jews and Italians have so much in common: love of the gab, talking with their hands, feeding the ones they love with food and guilt. Ironically, though, Sophie and Frank’s kids and their spouses, Joey (John Turturro, pending) and Mary Romano (Anabella Sciorra) and Ira (Richard Schiff) and Lilian Goldberg (Vera Farmiga), aren’t thrilled with the match. The feud reaches Romeo and Juliette proportions when the grandkids, Julia Goldberg (Odeya Rush) and Tony Romano (Christopher Riggi) also start falling for one another.
