    • Synopsis
    • War has become the compulsory decoration for the narratives of the modern press. Above the fields hang cameras which transmit the news to various dining rooms. Only real pain can be interesting to the viewer who has seen it all. When the source of pain receiving the highest ratings dries out – new wars have to be created. People are not simply biblical lambs needing a shepherd. People are sheep, which are fucked by everyone, who has the power to do so.
In the film THE FLOOD WON’T COME the events that are shown are removed from a specific time frame, country, or a military conflict. In the post-apocalyptic world destroyed by war, a few real events and many plot lines braid into one. War is the background in which the questions of humanity and the fragility of human life, and individual wish in its helplessness, as well as many other questions are raised.
The axis of the film revolves around a famous military professional. Having fought and consulted in various military regimes his whole life he ends up in an ambiguous situation. His homeland is torn by a civil war and he becomes a colonel on one of the warring sides. The man hardened by gunpowder and blood seeing the pointless massacres in his own land.
Having understood that the war is being fueled by foreign hands he understands his helplessness. The only thing that he can change is the number of the casualties from both sides. Not following orders the colonel tries to reduce the number of dangerous military actions to protect the soldiers but soon he becomes a suspect himself.
The drone that observes the events from above follows the colonel’s fate. Maybe it is the spy of one of the warring sides, or maybe it is the nosy press camera, maybe it is the all seeing eye of God. This non-interfering observer from above.
