- Police are baffled by a case in which it seems that a corpse has committed a murder, but reporter Im Jinhee (Uhm Jiwon) gets a call from a person who confesses to being the real culprit of the crime. The murderer warns Im that the executives of a pharmaceutical company will be killed in succession. This warning marks the first brutal attack by the so-called ′resurrected corpses′, the victims who have died from illegal clinical trials the company has executed. The fear of The Cursed: Dead Man′s Prey stems not only from a terrifying supernatural phenomenon, but also from the real fear of those the amoral individuals who exploit the poor, and the legal system that does not protect the weak. To the poor and the powerless, there is no means to defeat social evil, except for those who identify themselves as ′the cursed.′ The film, which is based on the TV series The Cursed, instills some sense of solidarity within a solid narrative, adding spectacles and speed for additional shock.
