    • Synopsis
    • In 2000 Marty Friedman was the lead guitarist for Megadeth, one of the most popular and successful rock bands on the planet. He had sold over 10 million records, toured all over the world, been nominated for multiple Grammy awards, and achieved the level of success and fame most everyone who picks up a guitar ever dreams of. But there was a problem -- Marty was quickly losing interest in heavy metal, and Megadeth. The style of music and the band were no longer inventive and loosing its edge. Marty wanted to go back to his musical roots as the innovator of shred guitar playing and create complex and sweeping compositions. He reverted to his childhood when he first learned music while listening to traditional Japanese vocals, and fell in love with the culture from afar. One year later, he quit the band and left everything behind to re-create himself in Tokyo. SPACEFOX is the surreal journey of a Jewish boy from the suburbs of Baltimore who decides to give up the heights of success and the drug-frenzy life of a heavy metal rock star to pursue his passion and musical purity in a distant and alien galaxy – Japan.
