    • Synopsis
    • Documenting the director Sinead O'Shea's return to her hometown, Navan, to explore the control exerted by the Catholic Church over Irish people including herself. She discovers that a group of townspeople found a way to resist. The film documents their quiet victories, their ongoing struggles and the eccentricities of life in a small Irish town. These astonishing yet uplifting stories use rare first hand testimonies to describe the horrors of mother and baby homes, the prevalence of violence against children and the co-dependent relationship between the Church, State and its people.
