    • Synopsis
    • POSHEEN tells the story of a passionate and lovesick preacher who devotedly ministers to a loosely knit, moonshine-addicted swamp community. And with the exception of Calponia, a maniacal young girl with a big imagination and a hankering for moonshine, the entire community follows the Preacher’s leadership. However, when two chimney building conmen and a boy prophet arrive in the community on the same day, many understand the arrivals to be a sign of the
changing of the guard. Calponia seizes the opportunity to test her imaginative and potentially destructive powers, while the Preacher finds himself in a struggle for authority and for the heart of the single and similarly lovesick Margaret. POSHEEN combines myth and satire, poetry and theatricality, to tell an outrageous story of the madness behind all inspiration and of the jealousy that fuels desire. The film further satirizes the salesmanship required of any pursuit, whether it is romantic,
      entrepreneurial, political, or artistic.
