    • Synopsis
    • PHOENIX is a romantic comedy recounting the unexpected relationship between two love-averse New Yorkers.
Lee (40) is reluctant to love after the death of his wife in a car accident. Sue (34) clings to her nomadic lifestyle as a way to avoid the inevitable disappointment of unsuccessful relationships.
These two strangers cross paths in a dive bar in Brooklyn - they hit it off and unexpectedly go home together. Sue sneaks out in the morning, and Lee is disappointed not to hear from her again.
A few weeks later, Sue shows up at his doorstep. She has three things to tell him: First, she likes him; second, she can’t see him anymore...Lee chases Sue down the block to ask her “what about the third thing?”. She asks him if he remembers telling her that he can’t have kids. He doesn’t remember, but yes, it’s true, he can’t have kids.
Sue’s third point is to tell him that actually he can and she is now expecting his baby! Lee is stunned by the news, but Sue states that as both of them had said that neither of them wants children - another thing he doesn't remember telling her - she will terminate the pregnancy in a clinic close to her next job in...Phoenix, Arizona.
However, Lee feels that it’s only right to accompany her for the procedure and so begins a 2000-mile pilgrimage to Phoenix which involves a hike into The Grand Canyon and a trip that will change both their lives forever.
