    • Synopsis
    • Brazilians do not know the measures of their own bodies.
Unlike developed countries, we have never made anthropometric surveys. This would have enabled us to find out our average body measures. Such shortcoming is the main source of a great deal of problems and difficulties faced by the population every day.
The nonexistence of a table with specific measures of Brazilian anatomy in clothing industry entails the use of imported models to make our clothes. These models are based on physical proportions quite different from ours. The outcome is an extremely high number of fixed hems, folds and other adjustments, so that such clothes can be worn, what results in a huge waste of material and time.
