    • Synopsis
    • On Friday 13th September 1974 three terrorists from the ferocious Japanese Red Army storm the French embassy in The Hague. They take eleven hostages. The terrorists demand the immediate release of their leader currently held in a French prison. Or they will kill the hostages, starting with the French Ambassador, and throw the bodies into the street.
The Dutch government is plunged into crisis, for the first time they must deal with a violent terrorist threat in the heart of the country. The nation is paralysed. Everyone fears the situation will escalate into a bloodbath at any moment. But the Dutch government are determined on a peaceful resolution. No senseless deaths on Dutch soil. But how? There are no plans prepared, no protocols, and crucially no experienced personnel ready to carry out key actions.
We follow the story through the eyes of three protagonists – a bus driver, the forgotten hero of the crisis. A young policeman whose personal ambition could trigger a massacre. And the Japanese terrorist held by the French whose freedom is being fought over. Each man finds himself unprepared for the emotional crisis he will face as the stakes are inexorably raised and they find themselves alone, facing lethal force, having to make choices in a world without rules, each individual plunged into his own deadly No Man’s Land.
