LIGHT UP NIPPON is a fireworks display project that will simultaneously launch fireworks at 10 disaster stricken areas following the Great East Japan Earthquake, using Japanese fireworks, which originally have the meaning of a requiem for those lost, and prayers for restoration.
Volunteer members of the executive committee, in response to the call from young businessmen who have connections in the affected areas, overcoming barriers through use of their own personal skills, conducted the first event on August 11, 2011, to the excitement of many people.
