    • To avoid getting caught with an illegal shipment at the Edinburgh airport, Lloyd, a burned out smuggler, swallows the lot. However, he accidentally ruins the shipment. Lloyd’s gangster boss Solo makes him responsible for the losses by adding the value to his debt. Solo needs the money and feels heat from his boss, the Big Man, to turn a tidy profit and pay a monthly honorarium. Lloyd seeks help from his working class buddies. Ally, a vegan hippie has cashed in savings and favours to open a vegetarian diner. But it is his pal Woodsy, a DJ, suggests the boys help Lloyd pay Solo back with proceeds from a gospel dance he will throw in the church.
They celebrate at a local pub then and a club, ending up at Hazel’s a young art student’s flat for an after hours party. Lloyd flirts with Hazel and suggests Ally date Amber, Hazel’s friend. Ally doesn’t participate as he wants true love and not casual encounters anymore.
At the dance, Lloyd experiences love at first sight with Heather, a straight girl. Woodsy DJ’s then goes nuts, throwing the payback money into the crowd. Amid the mayhem, police bust the party but the lovers escape. Woodsy gets chased, caught and placed in a mental hospital. The event has opened Heather’s eyes, giving her the courage to leave her adulterous husband, Hugh. She moves in with her clubbing, nurse friend Marie.
Heather and Lloyd reconnect and experience a blossoming whirlwind of love. Confusing the new feelings, Lloyd uses the relationship as a temporary escape, avoiding his harsh reality and debt to Solo. Frustrated with mental institution doctors, Woodsy jumps from a window and is taken to hospital.
The Big Man warns Solo he’s going to loose the club. Solo discovers Lloyd has been skimming from the shipments and desperately searches for Lloyd; trashing his flat and damages Ally’s diner. Heather grows tired of Lloyd’s clubbing and bingeing habits and confronts him.
Solo threatens Lloyd and pays Heather a violent visit. Heather’s bruised face shocks Lloyd into confessing about his debt to Solo but she wants nothing to do with him. Lloyd pleads with Solo to let him go, but Solo needs him to do a major smuggle to save his club, and uses Heather as insurance.
Intent on revenge, Lloyd smuggles a dangerously large amount in his intestines but the shipment ruptures on the airplane. Heather gets an emergency call from Ally and brings Heather and Marie along for the rescue. Lloyd almost OD’s in Ally’s diner as Solo arrives. Solo tries to kill Lloyd but Heather’s love gives him the strength to defeat Solo who is then removed by the Big Man. Lloyd’s debt free but Heather doesn’t want the lifestyle and leaves him. Still in love, he quits gets sober and cleans up. When they bump into each other at a local club, she realizes he has changed his ways and gives him a second chance.
