    • Synopsis
    • May, 1981: KGB Colonel Grigoriev, real name Volodia Vetrov (Kusturica),codename FAREWELL, decides to act.
Disillusioned by the corruption within Brezhnev’s government, he
hatches a plot to reveal vital military and industrial intelligence
covertly gathered by KGB spies from the West. With the help of a French engineer, Pierre (Canet), working in Moscow, he transmits this information to Paris. As this reaches President Mitterand, and his American counterpart, Ronald Reagan, it sets in motion a chain of events that would end the Cold War and, 8 years later, lead to one of modern history’s greatest events: the fall of the
      Berlin Wall.
FAREWELL is an engrossing spy thriller based on true events.
