    • Synopsis
    • It is a hot summer in Santiago, Chile. Ana is in the gynaecologist’s chair, waiting for a new artificial insemination. Her husband Daniel is by her side, as usual.
After five years of unsuccessful attempts, having a child has become practically the sole objective of this couple. As the years slip by, Ana has left everything behind in her quest for a child, and Daniel has kept his feelings from his wife so as not to hurt her. He really believes that they are being eaten up by frustration.
Ana and Daniel are in love and this keeps them together despite stress, silence, exhaustion and weariness.
And Ana’s fortieth birthday arrives, and with it the ever-growing feeling that she is losing all possibility of being a mother. In the middle of the party, when they were sure that there was nothing that could affect their existence, Alicia appears, a humble teenage girl born from a previous relationship of Daniel.
For the first time in years, Ana and Daniel disagree on something, and even though they do not know it, their lives to date have been shattered.
“DNA, Blood is Thicker than Water”, speaks of rebuilding love, learning to change and not remain immersed in the hope of the arrival of the “perfect reality” of our dreams; at being able to discover and take the opportunities that life gives us, shrugging off our fears, suffering and prejudice. It is a story of filial discovery and rediscovery, a story in which becoming a parent or a child transcends giving birth or being born, a story of choice, and of acceptance.
