    • Synopsis
    • Jose has a successful social and professional life, which he shares with his partner, Mateo, since ten years ago. Why then Jose now feels empty? They are a gay couple in contemporary Chile, and despite the time and things that have lived together, today everything is very difficult between them. Will that both as fifties, no longer allow themselves to continue dreaming?
Conformism, routine, the inertia of an established relationship over time, at a mature, adult age, have both of them with a sense of unease and distant from what they were, as a person, as a couple. Wear and decay of affection, of communication, of wounds from the past, from frustrated dreams are undermining them, from the center, from inside, from the heart. Jose has very ingrained the concept of family and relates the importance and meaning of life with it. He wanted a son, but Mateo never support him in search of alternatives. Mateo was violently separated from his family when his father knew about his homosexuality and always took shelter under the love of a partner. That Jose has decided to disappear and leave the house is not just for the fact that his beloved dog is gone because of Mateo, which left the gate open. That was a symbol, a concrete fact showing the status of their relationship. During this separation each will live a journey to the origin, to those personal fears that will forever ghosts if they are not confronted, to just then rethink them as a couple.
Jose will travel to the very south, on a journey that begins in a visit to his parents, but extending indefinitely in a trip of landscapes and nature that will connect him with his existential questions. On the other hand Mateo will stay in the house in Concepcion, living the decline of the city and exploring his insecurities. Both try to understand his being from loneliness, which is inevitably the absence of the other. Is it necessary to destroy in order to believe in our dreams?
