    • Synopsis
    • When a resourceful young female police officer, Molly Wells, and her partner are despatched in the middle of the night to pick up a prisoner, Matthew Waite, from a rural backwater town miles from the city, they see it as nothing more than a routine inconvenience, another bum job handed down to them by their superiors. But soon their suspicions are aroused, INTERPOL and other agencies are tracking Waite and how many convicts picked up in the middle of nowhere draw that kind of heat? However, nothing can prepare them for what is coming. Ambushed on the road by a well-armed and ruthless gang of mercenaries intent on freeing Waite, Molly’s partner is killed, yet somehow, in the confusion, she manages to drag Waite out of the mess and out of sight into the nearby woods. The gang are not far behind, but there’s no way she’s giving Waite up easily after her partner just died for him.
Molly doubles back with Waite to the cars, overcomes one of the gang and takes off in an SUV, but soon more bullets fly, and glass shatters, as the mercenaries launch into high-speed pursuit. Molly uses her larger vehicle to force her pursuers off the road, killing them, but crashes her car at the same time. Hauling herself and the injured Waite out of the wreckage, Molly quickly fills a rucksack of essentials, takes the mercenary’s short wave radio from the car, arms herself, and with nowhere else to go, leads them into the empty countryside. The chase is on.
But powerful people are behind this, and they’re done playing nice. Waite knows too much to chance him falling into police hands, and has to be eliminated. News of this gets through to Molly and Waite on the short-wave, and now they know that whoever’s chasing them wants them both dead. But they’re miles from anywhere, and it soon becomes clear that Waite’s old friends have pull in some very high places, and whatever or whoever Molly thought she knew or believed she could trust has gone right out of the window.
With no help coming, an ever-decreasing set of options, and with no one to rely on other but each other, Molly and Waite find themselves in an increasingly brutal game of cat and mouse. All they can do is run and hide, and somehow, anyhow, get themselves back to the relative safety of the city and get Waite into protective custody. But for now there’s only one priority, and it’s simple: just try and survive.
