    • Synopsis
    • James Dean walks down Broadway, his shoulders hunched against the drizzle. This iconic black and white photograph is the work of Dennis Stock (1928 - 2010), the subject of Beyond Iconic. This documentary introduces us to one of the most influential chroniclers of the late 20th century in his own words and through hundreds of his famous photographs. More than a biographic documentary, Beyond Iconic also brings us into Dennis Stock's photography workshop and home shortly before his recent death. The film goes beyond and delves into the meaning of photography, life and art. Stocks’s prolific photography captured not only history, but recorded his own life as well. Both a form of art and a way to record reality, photography relates to our very existence. In his own words, “It is a marvelous way of saying ‘I’ve been here!’”
