    • Synopsis
    • Two burglars strike it rich after stealing a mysterious coat with pockets containing an impossible fortune.
So begins this darkly comic tale, in which Midnight, an anthropomorphized dog, and his human servant Peter struggle for power, courtesy of the mysterious coat.
The submissive Peter initially accepts Midnight’s order to wear the coat at all times. Forbidden from leaving the house in case of being seen with the coat, Peter’s daily routine becomes a grim study in confinement. Meanwhile Midnight stumbles from one fantastical encounter to the next, spending ever-growing sums accessed from the coat.
Peter begins to lose patience, desiring to possess the entire fortune. After concealing the coat under an extra layer of clothes, he refuses Midnight further access to the pockets and keeps the fortune for himself.
Peter’s newfound freedom takes him out of the house, where he meets De Crecy. As the pair strike-up a romance, she is unaware of the coat he is hiding under his clothes. As their relationship develops, the coat will once again re-surface and play a crucial role in each of their outcomes.
