Description

Recyclewala Films is an independent film production company based in Mumbai, established by Sohum Shah and Anand Gandhi, with a vision to produce artistic, edgy, intellectually stimulating and emotionally engaging films for both Indian and international audiences. The focus has been on working with emerging talent with a unique voice. The company has produced Anand Gandhi's first feature 'Ship of Theseus', which has been hailed by many critics and filmmakers as “one of the most significant Indian films of the last few decades”. Rahi Anil Barve's debut macabre tale 'Tumbad' is its latest offering. It is now in and advanced stage of production.

Objective

We are looking for coproduction and funding interest for our film, `Tumbad', which is at an advanced stage of production, as we launch into our second shoot schedule in July and August this year. The film has already started garnering praise for its exquisite visuals and lyrical story-telling. I would love to meet up and share more about the film. I will also have a brief teaser to share. We are also looking to associate with a sales agent. `Ship of Theseus' premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and was touted as the `hidden gem of the year' by Cameron Bailey. The Critics' Circle (UK) has deemed the film to be one of 15 "life-changing" films of all time. The film has recently had a successful screening tour across America in collaboration with Austin-based indie distribution outfit, Indiememe, wherein we played at the most prestigious universities, art museums and theatres. Further screening requests continue to pour in. We are looking for television and digital distribution avenues for the film. Our maiden foray into distribution is the release of Gulabi Gang in India in February this year. With a view to bring quality cinema to audiences, Recyclewala Labs will continue to bring select films to Indian audiences. Thank you.
