    • Synopsis
    • Research has shown that fewer women study and work in STEM. With this being the case it decreases the number of role models that young girls can see who inspire their interest in the field of STEM. The area of science is certainly a male-dominated field leaving women, particularly African American women struggling to find examples of black female scientists and engineers in books, media, and popular culture.
Who Said You Can’t: African American Women in Science looks at the accomplishments of African American women in science of the past and present who serve as the pathways to our future women in science and engineering. When we look at the doctors, teachers, engineers, physicists, mathematicians, and nurses who have contributed in large, as well as small ways to the overall body of science; the findings are astonishing.
