    • Synopsis
    • Abandoned by her mother at the last moment, towards the end of her summer trip to the Basque Country, Taiwanese teenager Anna (15) visits a Basque sheep farmhouse. There, she meets Lucia (15), a Spanish tourist who draws beautiful manga and is seemingly obsessed with Japanese pop culture. In order to be friend of Lucia, Anna lies and claims to be Japanese, immediately piquing Lucia's curiosity. However, what Anna doesn't know is that Lucia has been deceived by her more masculine appearance and has mistaken her for a boy.

The girls quickly learn that the sheep are in the mountains, where they graze during the summer. Lucia suggests skipping the rest of the tour to find the sheep.

The pair wanders through the picturesque Basque hills while chatting incessantly about manga, animation, and Japan. Playing along with her supposed Japanese identity, Anna enjoys Lucia's company, and the two draw a sheep together in Lucia's notebook. Lucia names the sheep "Hikaru," a Japanese name that Anna has used for herself.

As their growing affection becomes undeniable, Lucia is about to kiss Anna when she is taken aback by discovering Anna's true identity. Angry, Lucia flees and leaves Anna alone on the mountain, shattered and confused.

Through Lucia's eyes and this friendship that blooms and withers, Anna doesn't discover who she is, but rather who she is not.
