    • Synopsis
    • The film observes Petar Nizamov, a former junior boxing champion and law graduate, who successfully runs the family-owned firewood business. He is also the head of an NGO providing free of charge legal assistance. For helping an unemployed mother to regain custody of her children, taken away by the state, he is awarded Lawyer of the Year. His public criticism of the corrupt Bulgarian government rewards him with thousands of supporters on social media. He claims the government tries to cancel him. One evening two men attempt an armed assassination. After the police stop the investigation due to lack of evidence, he decides to run for city council in his hometown. His political campaign fails, and he becomes radical. During one of his regular patrols of the Bulgarian-Turkish border in response to the growing refugee crisis, he and his peers encounter a group of Afghan refugees and brutally arrest them. The video of the event turned him overnight into a celebrity. As a result, he connects with leaders of far-right movements in Europe but soon realizes they share the same agenda as the greedy Bulgarian politicians he has been opposing. When the war in Ukraine starts, Petar volunteers to help the storming refugees from the country with what he can.
He's a businessman, a revolutionary, a politician, a headhunter, and a good Samaritan. His life was stranger than fiction, full of breathtaking twists, and represents our society in a post-truth era.
