    • Coffee is a beverage, which everyone loves. It is possible to drink coffee in many ways and in every part of the world. Coffee is different from the other beverages. It is special. Coffee is unique. Coffee is heat. Coffee is a physical passage of energy, from a body to another.
In Naples there is an old tradition called “suspended coffee”. It is a simple daily gesture: when you enter in a bar and you order a coffee, you pay for more than on coffee. The other payed, but not consumed coffee, are for a stranger, for someone, who doesn’t have the money to pay for a coffee. He can enter in a coffee shop and ask for a suspended coffee. For a lot of time this tradition was lost, in a modern and chaotic Naples. In these last years, someone thought to bring it alive. The more and more the little and the big coffee shop of the city show the writing “here suspended coffee”. Suspended coffee is the start point of this film for a journey through three histories. The histories of three characters, three real people, who, live in three different places far away among them. The first is about Giancarlo, who, lives in Naples. He is 20 years old; he is serving a sentence for robbery. In the last months, he worked in a cooperative called Suspended Coffee. This cooperative teaches to young imprisoned how make and serve a coffee. “I love when people they drink my coffee” says Christian. In August, he finished serving a term of imprisoned, and he has to understand what to do with his life. His life is suspended.
It is happens also in the history set in New York. Here the protagonist is Elisabeth, she is a young businesswoman, who, decided to leave her job to sell the coffee pots, which, her father produced but he never sold, because he died before to start this business. Those coffee pots were suspended, as the relation between Elisabeth and her father.
In Buenos Aires there are two people, who, don’t know each other and they don’t want know each other, but they exchange something. A writer, Martin, stay all day in his preferred coffee shop: there he can look the people, he imagines the histories and writes his books. Glodier is the waiter, who, everyday serves him coffee, the good coffee to Martin. Therefore, Martin decides to reward him, granting his biggest desire: appear as character in a Martin’s novel.
