    • Synopsis
    • Stealing Is Bad is a crime drama about 15-year-old Ricky Axelrod, an ambitious kid who just wants to do the right thing. He can’t figure out what that is, unfortunately, because every single role model in his life is either a hypocrite or openly corrupt.

When Ricky’s denied a promotion at work by his hypocritical boss Ralph Cooper, he makes a joke about robbing the place as payback. He’s overheard and taken seriously by his co-worker Marvin Felcher, a 40-year-old ex-con who works in the kitchen. They become fast friends and Ricky soon finds himself drinking with Marvin, learning how to fire a gun and planning a heist of the chicken shack.

As Ricky is dragged deeper into a life of crime and corruption, the one voice of idealism in his life is Eloise Estrada, a 16-year-old co-worker he has a crush on. Ricky asks her: if you can break the law and get away with it, why wouldn’t you? Eloise answers that even if he gets away with it, he’ll know...and he can’t lie to himself.

Ricky can follow Marvin’s path, or Eloise’s, but not both. Making the wrong choice will lead to prison, or worse... responsibility.
