- Synopsis
- North Star is the true story of Swedish princess Ann Mari von Bismarck, who saved thousands of Jews during World War II. An epic that spans across cruel and turbulent times, it focuses on Ann Mari, member of the famous Bismarck family. Whilst the family is known in history for the unification of modern Germany, her story chronicles the events that led to the inspiring operation “White Buses”. Through her compassionate and heroic leadership, she enabled the evacuation of thousands of victims from concentration camps during the Holocaust into safety and freedom. The film deals with the themes of love, politics, betrayal, torn loyalties, and the championing of humanitarian ideals in onerous times.
